PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing fiber cord for a transmission belt, which has especially excellent transmission performance and belt traveling life, and to provide a transmission belt reinforced with the cord. SOLUTION: The reinforcing fiber cord for a transmission belt has a spun yarn of a fiber having 95 mol% or more of a repeating units, composed of a polyketone represented by formula (1) and has an average fiber length of the spun yarn of 300-2,000 mm.
