PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method by which a molding having a preferable structural state is produced using a 6,000 series aluminum alloy as the stock. SOLUTION: The molding production method includes: a step of applying homogenizing treatment to a round rod obtained by casting 6,000 series aluminum alloy by a continuous casting method; a step of performing hot plastic working using the homogenizing-treated round rod as the stock to mold a shape stock; and steps of performing heat treatment including solution treatment after the plastic working, wherein the aluminum alloy has the components of, by mass, 0.3 to 1.0% Si, 0.2 to 0.6% Cu, 0.8 to 1.5% Mg, 0.05 to 0.5% Cr, 0.05 to 0.15% Mn and 0.18 to 0.40% Fe, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, and temperature conditions that the temperature in the homogenizing treatment is 450 to 500°C and the stock temperature upon the hot plastic working is 460 to 530°C are satisfied.
