A multistage measuring tape for safety inspection and checkup is provided to offer easy portability of the measuring tape can be folded to short length, and to measure length of narrow and deep space conveniently and easily by extending the measuring tape. A multistage measuring tape for safety inspection and checkup includes a case(100), a multiple pipe(200), an encoder, a gradulated ruler, an LCD part, a power supply part, a control part, and a button part. The case includes a bobbin and a spring. The multiple pipe includes a plurality of outer pipes become gradually narrower passing through the case. The gradulated ruler is winded on the bobbin to a coil type, and combined on an end of an inner pipe having the smallest diameter. The encoder reads movement distance of the gradulated ruler with pulse-typed scales. The LDC part is installed at the outer pipe, and indicates a data value read by the encoder. The power supply part supplies power source for operation of the encoder. The control part controls the operation of the encoder, and is connected with the encoder and the power supply part. The button part is installed at the case or the outer pipe, and controls the operation of the control part and the LCD part.
