PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bacteria of the genus Moorella which are available for wide uses as a host cell, and a primer which is available upon creation of bacteria of the genus Moorella which are available for wide uses as a host cell.

SOLUTION: Disclosed are bacteria of the genus Moorella having features that genes on chromosomes are deleted or destroyed by homologous recombination to exhibit auxotrophy, and a specific primer which amplifies a region adjacent to a gene encoding orotate phosphoribosyltransferase.
