PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission device that can suppress non-uniform irradiation of a laser beam to a wavelength conversion member and increase a light extraction efficiency, and lamp equipment using the same in which an optical system constituting the lamp equipment can be simplified and miniaturized.SOLUTION: In a light emission device having a laser device LD and a wavelength conversion plate FC which is configured and arranged so that radiation light from the laser device is incident from one principal surface and conversion light obtained by converting the wavelength of the radiation light is emitted from the other principal surface, a near-field pattern NFP of the radiation light has an ellipsoidal shape, a far-field pattern FFP of the radiation light has an ellipsoidal shape whose long axis direction is orthogonal to the long axis direction of the near-field pattern, the one principal surface of the wavelength conversion plate has a rectangular shape having long sides and short sides, and the wavelength conversion plate is disposed so that the long sides thereof extend along the major axis direction of the far-field pattern, and the short sides thereof extend along the short axis direction of the far-field pattern.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
