PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight synthetic resin intake manifold with a built-in intercooler.SOLUTION: An intake manifold includes a synthetic resin main body 1 in an intermediate portion for storing a water-cooling intercooler 5, a synthetic resin upper cover 2 on an upper surface side, a synthetic resin lower cover 3 on a lower surface side, and a metall shell 4 for covering an outer side of the lower cover 3. A collector chamber and a plurality of branch parts 18 are formed by welding the main body 1 and the upper cover 2. A lower tank chamber into which high temperature supercharged intake air is introduced is formed by welding the main body 1 and the lower cover 3. The shell 4 is joined to a bottom surface 33 of the lower cover 3, and a pair of attachment pieces 37 and a pair of auxiliary attachment pieces 44 are fixed to boss parts 41 and 46 of the main body 1. The lower cover 3 is efficiently reinforced with respect to deterioration of material strength under a high temperature, and peeling of a welding part 31 by a supercharging pressure can be avoided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
