PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine derivative useful as a pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediate and an electronic material intermediate and to provide a method for producing thereof.SOLUTION: There are provided: a 5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine derivative represented by the formula (1); and a method for obtaining the derivative by oxidizing a 4-phenylthio-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine derivative to generate a sulfoxide, followed by reacting with an aniline derivative. (R1 and R3 represent H, a methyl group, an ethyl group, an alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, a methoxy group, an ethoxy group, an alkyloxy group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, a cyano group or a nitro group; and R2 and R4 represent a methyl group or an ethyl group.)SELECTED DRAWING: None |
