<p>An embedded system and a firmware updating method thereof are provided to update firmware by using a recovery kernel/file system including only the information used for downloading the new firmware at a flash memory. The first kernel/file system(320,330) stores the firmware for operating the embedded system. The second recovery kernel/file system(340,350) includes the information used for downloading the new firmware when a problem occurs in the firmware. The information used for downloading the new firmware includes connection information of a server storing the new firmware. A flash memory stores a header(310) including version and CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) information of the first kernel/file system and the second recovery kernel/file system. The first kernel/file system stores the downloaded new firmware.</p> |
