The present invention relates to a recoverable instant thickening acid, mainly for the recycling and reusing production stimulation operation of a gas well carbonate reservoir acidizing fluid. The recoverable instant viscous acid is prepared by the following components in weight percentage: 1.5-3 parts of a thickening agent, 0.5-3 parts of potassium chloride and 100 parts of a hydrochloric acid solution, wherein the thickening agent is a mixture composed of 40%-70% of N-lauroyl-N'- hydroxyethyl-N'-carboxypropyl ethylenediamine propionate or a derivative thereof, 4%-12% of ethanol and 18%-56% of water, all being in mass percentage. With the thickening acid for performing an acidification treatment, the residual acid liquor can be re-prepared as an acid liquor again for an acidification treatment without a chemical treatment, ensuring the green and environmentally friendly production and sustainable development of gas fields; the research result has a significant economic benefit as well as an important social benefit, and has very great popularization and application prospects.
