A visit prompting method based on a network hospital platform, and the network hospital platform. The method comprises: matching a corresponding department and a corresponding doctor according to registration information of a user; generating a visit number corresponding to the doctor for the user, and acquiring waiting information of the doctor, the waiting information comprising a visit queuing quantity of patients and a current visit number; and when the interval between the visit number of the user and the current visit number reaches a pre-set visit queuing number interval, sending visit prompting information to the user to remind the user of entering a waiting room. In the method, a waiting prompt is pertinently sent to a user through the network hospital platform and the user can conveniently check the waiting information of a consulting room queued by the user, thereby improving the user experience of the visit prompting.
