PURPOSE:To quickly calculate an approximate dimension by previously memorizing the focal length of an objective lense, the size of a photoelectric surface, and dimensional data about the range index, and calculating a distance to a target substance with the data of an input unit received. CONSTITUTION:Light from a target substance 1 illuminated by a feeble light is imaged on the photoelectric surface 5 of an image intensifier 3 via an objective lense 2. A photoelectron from the photoelectric surface 5 is redoubled to indicate an image on a fluorescent screen 6, and the image is observed with eyes 7 via an ocular 4. The light of a reticule 9 irradiated with a reticule light source 8 reaches the fluorescent screen 6 via a lense 10 and a mirror 11, and a range index as a reticule pattern image is overlapped. When the proportion of the substance 1 in the range index and the actual dimension of the substance 1 are inputted in an input unit 13, an approximate distance to the substance 1 is calculated from these memorized and inputted data in a distance conversion part 14 in which the focal length of the lense 2, the size of the photoelectric surface 5, and the dimensional data of the range index are previously memorized, and a distance value is displayed in a display part 15. |
