<p>PURPOSE: To provide the new image information storage and retrieval device which can store attached information regarding a variety of digital images without losing it at all. CONSTITUTION: The image information storage and retrieval device which stores and retrieves image information having various data formats including headers 2 according to the attached information 3c of image data 4 included in the image information generates an identifier 3a which has information showing the classification of the attached information 3c and also has a common format to respective pieces of attached information when storing the attached information 3c on an image information recording medium, stores this generated identifier 3c together with the attached information 3a and an attached information length code 3b showing the length of the attached information and separately from the header 2, and makes good use of this stored identifier 3b to retrieve image information.</p> |
