<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a photopolymerization initiator composition comprising a sulfonium organic boron complex of a specific structure or an oxosulfonium organic boron complex and a specific sensitizer, generating a free radical by exposure to light, capable of polymerizing a photopolymerizable compound in a short time. CONSTITUTION: This photopolymerization initiator composition comprises (A) (i) a sulfonium organic boron complex of the formula [R<1> is benzyl, phenacyl, an aryloxy, etc.; R<2> and R<3> are each independently the same as those of R<1> or an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, amino, etc.; R<4> is an oxygen atom or an independent electron pair; R<8> to R<8> are each independently an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, an alkenyl, etc.; with the proviso that R<5> to R<8> are not wholly a (substituted) aryl] or (ii) an oxosulfonium organic boron complex and (B) a sensitizer (preferably a benzophenone derivative or a thioxanthone derivative) having both an electron donative properties and electron accepting properties in an excited state. The composition is mixed with a compound containing an ethylenic unsaturated bond capable of being subjected to free radical initiation addition polymerization and used.</p> |
