Either the catch used to prevent the piston part of the cam follower (3) rotating with the cover when it is being opened or closed, or the piston channel (8) is provided with a means for preventing the sides of the catch striking the channel walls when a load is applied to the top part (6) of the cam follower. The flip cover used to protect at least part of the mobile phone keypad is pivotable about an axle connected at one end to a passive hinge fitting and at the other end to an active hinge fitting comprising a cam follower arrangement used to urge the cover into a closed or open position. The cam follower arrangement comprises a piston with a cam surface (11), one end of the piston cooperating with a correspondingly shaped surface in the cover, whilst the other end is provided with a catch for tensioning the piston in a direction leaving the piston channel. The piston can be moved in a linear direction along this channel.
