<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the state of a scalp by removing unnecessary lipids well from the scalp. <P>SOLUTION: The method for improving the state of a scalp by removing unnecessary lipids from the scalp comprises the following steps (1)-(3). Step (1): a step for spreading on a dry scalp a scalp-cleaning composition that contains 50-97 mass% of a rice bran oil and 3-50 mass% of a nonionic surfactant while contains substantially no water. Step (2): a step, after step (1), for washing the scalp and the hair using a shampoo agent containing a surfactant and water and subsequently washing the scalp and the hair with water.
