PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve inclination detection ability and processing speed by installing a change quantity calculation means calculating the total sum of the change quantity of picture data in one direction in an object and an inclination calculation means calculating the inclination of the object based on the change quantity of picture, which the change quantity calculation means calculates. SOLUTION: A noise removal means 53 removes noise from an input picture by a media filter processing and a wavelet conversion means 51 two- dimensionally wavelet-converts the picture. An energy calculation means 52 calculates the energy of the picture which is wavelet-converted and calculates the energy difference of two elements in the picture which is wavelet-converted. The objective picture is successively converted until the difference becomes sufficiently small while the aspect ratio of the picture is gradually converted. An inclination estimation means 55 specifies the inclination of the objective picture based on the aspect ratio conversion rate of the picture when the energy of the respective elements in the picture which is wavelet-converted satisfies a prescribed condition. |
