PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric crusher and an electric crushing method capable of controlling a radial direction of a streamer radiated from electrodes when a high tension pulse is repeatedly impressed to a pair of electrodes coming into contact with an object to be crushed to electrically crush the object to be crushed, promoting crushing efficiency and increasing efficiency of crushing work control. SOLUTION: Paint is supplied to a nozzle block 56 from a discharging pump 55, this nozzle block 56 discharges the paint between electrodes 54 to form a guide line between the electrodes 54, an insulating medium such as water or oil or the like stored in a tank 52 is supplied to the inside of a water retention case 53, and after the circumference of the electrodes is filled with the insulating medium, and a high tension pulse generated by a high tension pulse generator 51 is repeatedly impressed to the electrodes 54 to electrically crush an object to be crushed.
