PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a functional setting in the form of interaction by a voice guidance and voice input by providing an operation means for setting a voice guide mode and a voice guide mode control means for setting each function by the interactive form by voice with a user in accordance with the operation of an operation means. SOLUTION: When a user inputs a function number by a function key 9 and a dial key 10 from a display operation part 5, a portable telephone set 1 stores this function number. Next, a control part 4 reads this function number, guides the summary of a function equivalent to this function number with voice from a speaker 3 and continually guides a keyword for setting which can be operated by the user with voice. The user listens to the voice guidance and inputs a keyword desired to operate with voice from a microphone 8 in accordance with the guidance. This inputted voice is recognized by a voice recognizing circuit part 7 and in response to this, the part 4 sets a function corresponding to the inputted keyword.
