<p>A bed covering retention apparatus (10) having a planar anchor plate (12) with a proximal portion (14) and a distal portion (16), an upper surface (18) and a lower surface (20), a first (22) and a second (24) anchor point at the proximal end of the anchor plate to which first (26) and second (28) elastic bands are removably connected. The first and second elastic bands have a proximal end (34, 36) and distal end (38, 40) and extend from the anchor points along the bottom surface (20) of the anchor plate until each emerges upwardly through respective apertures (42, 44) to the top surface (18) of the anchor plate. The bands further include releasable jaws (52) having an adjustable opening (48) and adjustable tension so that the jaws will clamp securely to sheets and covers (66, 68) of varying thicknesses. The elastic bands are of differing lengths, one being suited to clamping to an innermost bed covering (66) and the other for clamping to coverings (68) above the innermost covering.</p> |
