The adjusting system for Bowden cables in vehicles comprises a spring-loaded separator (2) consisting of inner (4) and outer (3) telescopic sleeves. These hold back the cable sheath (10) while the cable is pulled through them. The sleeves can be locked in position by rotating them until rows of teeth (13) engage.
