PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information terminal and a virtual pet display method which can make the user feel more cherished to the virtual pet eliminating a distance felt from it by displaying it overlapped on a part of a human body as a virtual image. SOLUTION: Information displayed on an image display part 50 is supplied to the user with a semi-light transmitting optical element being optically overlapped as a virtual image on the information in the actual visual field passing through the semi-light transmitting optical element. At this point, an image display control part 87 makes an image display part 50 display the image of the virtual pet so that the virtual pet appears on the skin detected by a processing part 86 as a virtual image.
