<p>The invention relates to finishing means (450) for neatly finishing a room. The finishing means are for finishing a transition region between different areas of the room. The finishing means have a finished surface, typically oriented to the room which is to be finished, a back surface for abutment against a wall or construction material and at least one end portion which is adapted to be covered with spreadable covering material (116). The finishing means are first positioned and connected to the transition region to be finished and the surrounding wall and the at least one end portion is then covered by covering material (116), using a guiding surface adjacent the region to be covered with covering material and extending over at least some area in the direction of the region to be covered with covering material. After applying the covering material, the front surface of the finishing means is flush, i.e. lies in the same plane, with the front surface of the applied covering material, thus completely integrating the finishing means in the walls or construction material or in the covering material on top of it.
