<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus, etc., for easily diagnosing whether a subject falls into a metabolic syndrome or not. <P>SOLUTION: The metabolic syndrome diagnosing apparatus includes: an input means for inputting the sex, waist perimeter, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, HDL cholesterol level, and neutral fat level of the testee; and a means for determining whether the testee falls into the metabolic syndrome or not, based on whether at least a waist perimeter condition and a blood data condition are satisfied or not. The waist perimeter condition is not less than 85 cm in the waist perimeter in the case of the male testee and not less than 90 cm in the waist perimeter in the case of the female testee. The blood data condition is to satisfy not less than two of the following conditions, i.e., the condition A: the systolic blood pressure is not less than 130 mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure is not less than 85 mmHg, the condition B: the fasting blood sugar is not less than 110 mg/dL, and the condition C: the neutral fat level is not less than 150 mg/dL and/or the HDL cholesterol level is less than 40 mg/dL. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
