The present invention relates to a trailer for use in a tractor-trailer combination in which the tractor and trailer are detachably connected by a fifth wheel. The trailer includes a front bed section and a rear bed section, wherein said front and rear bed sections are pivotally connected to one another about a horizontal axis and movable between a first position wherein said front and rear bed sections ar e in substantially parallel planes, and a second position wherein at least one of said front and rear bed sections is pivoted downwardly relative to the other. The trailer includes limit means cooperating with said front and rear bed sections to limit said front and rear bed sections from pivoting upwardly relative to one another beyond said first position.
