PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified antibody to the extracellular domain of human prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) or its antigen-binding fragment.

SOLUTION: Provided are modified anti-PSMA antibodies or their antigen-binding fragments and pharmaceutical compositions including the antibodies, nucleic acids, recombinant expression vectors and host cells for the preparation of the antibodies and fragments. Also provided are methods for using the antibodies in vitro or in vivo for detecting human PSMA or eliminating or killing PSMA expression cells such as cancers or prostate cells expressing PSMA.
