摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid abnormal combustion in a high load region in a spark ignition type gasoline engine 1 of a high compression ratio in which a geometric compression ratio is set to be relatively higher.SOLUTION: A controller (PCM10) sets the pressure of fuel to be higher than a predetermined value in a high load region (1) equal to or above a second load including the maximum load when the operation condition of an engine is in a region equal to or above a first load in which spark ignition combustion is carried out and in a low speed region lower than a predetermined speed, drives a fuel injection valve (injector 67) so as to inject the fuel with a timing within a retard period from a compression stroke latter period to an expansion stroke initial period, and in a region (2) of lower load than the high load region, sets the pressure of the fuel to be lower than the predetermined value and drives the fuel injection valve so as to inject the fuel at least within an intake stroke period.
