Granting object authority via a multi-touch screen to a collaborator

In an embodiment, in response to a gesture by an administrator, a security palette is created and displayed on a multi-touch screen. In response to a move by the administrator of a first icon to within the security palette, wherein the first icon represents a first object, a same authority that the administrator has to the first object is granted to the security palette. In response to a collaborator touching the security palette, the same authority to the first object is granted to the collaborator.

1. A method comprising:
in response to a gesture by an administrator, creating a security palette displayed on a multi-touch screen providing a user interface that receives touch gestures from the administrator and a collaborator, wherein the administrator has authority over a subset of the objects on the screen, and wherein the collaborator has authority over a different subset of the objects on the screen; in response to a move by the administrator of a first icon outside of the security palette to within the security palette, wherein the first icon represents a first object, wherein the administrator has authority over the first object, and wherein the collaborator has no authority over the first object, granting the authority that the administrator has over the first object to the security palette; in response to the collaborator touching the security palette, granting the authority that the administrator has over the first object to the collaborator, wherein the collaborator has no authority over the first object when the first icon is outside the security palette; in response to a move by the collaborator of a second icon outside of the security palette to within the security palette, wherein the second icon represents a second object; wherein the administrator has no authority over the second object, and wherein the collaborator has authority over the second object before the second icon is moved within the security palette, removing the authority that the collaborator has over the second object, and; displaying visual indicators inside the security palette that indicate that the collaborator has authority over the first object and no authority over the second object.
