A pipelaying apparatus uses a housing (10) preceding the pipeline (7) to be advanced in which a rotary drill head (26) is mounted as well as a conveyor (19) for conveying the spoil material. The drill head (26) is driven by several individual drive motor (30) arranged in the housing (10). The drill head (26) has a tool holder (28) carrying in the outer peripheral region, at least two cutting rollers (35). Further cutting tools, e.g. cutters (47) or picks (48, not shown), are inwardly offset on the drill head relative to the outer cutting rollers (35). A cutting ring (39) encircles the cutter head (26) and the holder (28) is equipped with blades in the region of spoil through-openings. A crushing chamber (43) with a crushing tool (50) is arranged at the rear of the drill head (26) and at the receiving end (29) of the conveyor screw (19).
