<p>PURPOSE: To inform whether an end stitching work and a middle stitching work can be carried out or not to a user by outputting a signal for showing the impossibleness of a stitching work in such cases as the number of sheets being possible in stitching < the number of sheets requiring end stitching, moreover the number of sheets being possible in stitching < the number of sheets requiring middle stitching or the number of sheets being possible in folding < the number of sheets requiring middle stitching. CONSTITUTION: A memory means 91 for the number of sheets possible in stitching stores the number A1 of sheets possible in stitching of a stitching device. A memory means 92 for the number of sheets possible in folding stores the number A2 of sheets possible in folding of a folding device 64. An outputting means 103 for the number of sheets requiring end stitching outputs the number Ht of sheets requiring end stitching in the case where an original image stored in an image storing means 101 is recorded on both the faces of the sheet one page by one page and endstitched. An outputting means 104 for the number of sheets requiring middle stitching outputs the number Nt of sheets requiring middle stitching in the case where the original image is recorded on both the faces of the sheet two pages by two pages and middle stitched.
