PURPOSE: To obtain an aqueous ionomer resin dispersion containing particles with small particle diameters, being stably dispersed and being capable of giving a coating resin film being thermoplastic, tough and highly elastic by dispersing a solution containing a specified water-self-dispersing ionomer in an aqueous dispersion. CONSTITUTION: This dispersion is prepared by reacting a synthetic resin (A) capable of being self-dispersed in water by neutralization and having anionic functional groups with a water-soluble monoacidic base (B) which can neutralize the functional groups and an organic-solvent-soluble polyvalent metal salt (C) in the presence of an organic solvent to obtain a water-self-dispersible ionomer resin in which at least part of the functional groups of the resin A are neutralized with the base B to form a salt, and at least another part of the functional groups form an intermolecular cross-linkage through the polyvalent metal ions of the metal salt C and dispersing a solution containing the ionomer resin in an aqueous medium essentially consisting of water. The produced dispersion is one containing particles with small diameters, being stably dispersed and is capable of giving a coating resin film being thermoplastic, tough and highly elastic. |
