<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely suppress the difference in the curvature of a glass sheet G which occurs between the front end and rear end in a transportation direction by transporting the glass sheet heated in a heating furnace to a rapid cooling device adjacent to the heating furnace and supplying gas in such a manner that the gas flows downstream of the transportation on the glass sheet surface in the process. SOLUTION: The glass sheet G heated in the heating furnace 1 is transported to the rapid cooling device 2 adjacent to the heating furnace 1 and the cooling gas (the cooling air supplied from quench modules 21, 22) in the rapid cooling device 2 is blown to the glass sheet, by which the glass sheet is rapidly cooled and the tempered glass sheet is produced. At this time, the gas is supplied to the surface of the glass sheet G from the upstream side of the transportation from the surface. The gas is supplied from, for example, an air curtain device 3 to suppress the infiltration of the rapid cooling gas to the heating furnace 1. As a result, the difference in the shape between the front end and rear end in the transportation direction of the glass sheet G is effectively suppressed.</p> |
