The pressure and temperature reducing process acts on the leading edge of a flying body (1) during supersonic flight. it is implemented by means of a spike (3) with a spherical (4), elliptical or teardrop-shaped tip on the front end to reduce the effect of the air flow onto the leading edge (2) independently of the angle of attack.
