PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel, improved stirrer used in a heat exchanger unit of a heat exchanger, more particularly, provide the stirrer enabling reduction in size and weight of the heat exchanger using the stirrer by increasing the heat transfer capacity of the heat exchanger and/or reducing pressure drop through the heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The stirrer 60A includes a thin plate material 62A exhibiting a good heat transfer performance, and the material 62A has a plurality of integrated strand-like rows 64A defined by crests 66A and bottoms 68A disposed alternately. The crests 66A and the bottoms 68A of the respective rows 64A are connected by side walls 69A nominally crossing the longitudinal direction of the rows 64A at right angles, and the crest 66A and the bottom 68A of each row 64A are offset with respect to the crests 66A and the bottoms 68A in adjoining relation in a staggered arrangement. A piercing part 70A is created in a boundary between the neighboring rows 64A by this offset. The bottom 68A of each row is made to communicate with the crests 66A of the neighboring rows 64A, and the crest 66A of each row 64A is made to communicate with the neighboring bottoms 68A of the neighboring rows 64A.
