PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface frictional coefficient determining device capable of accurately determining a frictional coefficient between a road surface and tires used in control of a vehicle as a whole. SOLUTION: Respective wheel speeds of a plurality of wheels provided on the vehicle are detected by a wheel speed sensor 12. Frictional coefficients between the road surface and the tires provided on the plurality of wheels, respectively, are estimated per wheel by a four wheel road surfaceμestimating means 20 on the basis of the respective detected wheel speeds of the plurality of wheels. The frictional coefficient between the road surface and the tires of the vehicle as a whole is determined by a road surfaceμdetermining means 40 on the basis of the determined plurality of frictional coefficients.
