DEVICE CAPABLE OF SIMULTANEOUSLY MEASURING WEIGHT, SWING WEIGHT AND NATURAL FREQUENCY OF GOLF CLUB

PURPOSE: Provided is a device for measuring characteristics of a golf club to automatically give oscillation to a shaft and to correctly measure the natural frequency of the golf club with a single device of simple construction. CONSTITUTION: The measuring device includes a measuring table(2) attached to a base(1) via a supporting bar(8). A shaft support portion(4) for supporting the reference position of the shaft and a grip support portion(5) containing a second load cell therein and downwardly urging the grip end of the golf club are disposed at the measuring table. A clamper(6) having dynamic deformation gauge is provided in the base. The weight and swing weight of the golf club are measured by an output signal of the first and second load cell. When the clamper clamps the grip support portion, the angle of golf club relative to a horizontal face is changed, and thus the shaft is vibrated by a shock due to the angle change. The golf club is released from between the shaft support portion and grip support portion, and thus an output signal of the dynamic deformation gauge is detected to measure the natural frequency of the golf club.
