PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of providing a high quality image when used for an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A mirror 26 is increased in rigidity by adhesively fixing a single reinforcement member 36 to both side end faces and the rear side of a reflecting surface. Thus, the mirror 26 is increased in characteristic value, and becomes resistant to oscillating. Since the reinforcement member 36 is balanced in weight in the width direction bordering on the width directional center line, and also the width directional center line is aligned with the width directional center of the mirror 26, the direction of rotation about the axis as the direction of the scanning line can be balanced, and the mirror can be prevented from vibrating in the rotational direction when vibrations input from the outside.
