PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element, an optical element molding die and a manufacturing method of the optical element which can simply and certainly inhibit the generation of improper transfer of a resin material, furthermore, which can inexpensively manufacture the optical element excellent in optical performance while increasing production yield. SOLUTION: In an optical element 1 formed with a resin material, a gate section 2 is formed on the side surface of an optical element body 1a, and the proportion of the thickness of the above gate section 2 to the thickness of an optical function part 1b of the above optical element body 1a is set to be at least 50%.
