PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus comprising a cap device capable of cleaning a recording head preferably by preventing adhesion of ink to the surface of the recording head having a nozzle opening by preventing rise of an ink absorbing material by swelling. SOLUTION: An ink-jet recording apparatus for printing on a recording paper by ejecting ink, comprising a recording head for printing on a recording paper by ejecting ink, a cap device comprising at least cap members 31 (31a-31b), 32 for sealing the nozzle opening of the recording head, and cap holders 36 (36a-36b), 37 for storing the cap members 31, 32, a negative pressure generating means for vacuuming the ink inside the recording head via the cap members 31, 32 of the cap device, ink absorbing members stored in the cap members 31, 32, a pressing member 40 disposed on the upper surface of the ink absorbing member for pressing the ink absorbing material, and a fixing means for fixing the pressing member 40 on the cap member 31, 32. |
