A floating type skimmer is provided to prevent the bubbles from flowing into a water collecting case due to vortex, which is generated by flow of water surface, and prevent air from flowing into the water collecting case due to decrease of the water level within the water collecting case, by using a ball tower actively operated. An upper end of a water collecting case(10) is opened. A plurality of catching elements(12) are protruded from an outer surface(14) of the water collecting case. A partition wall for forming a water inflow port is upwardly protruded from the center of a bottom surface of the water collecting case. A ball tower(20) is floated to stand up within the water collecting case after passing through the center of the water inflow port. A bottom surface of the ball tower is fixed so that the ball tower is maintained in a stand state. The ball tower rises or falls based on the bottom surface thereof, by increase or decrease of water surface. One or more floating members(30) are detachably installed at the catching elements, wherein the floating members float the water collecting case to a predetermined position by buoyancy thereof. A fixing unit(40) includes a guide groove(12a) horizontal to the water surface and a guide hole(12b) vertical to the water surface. The guide groove is formed on an upper surface of the catching element. The guide hole is formed at a region where the guide groove is finished with passing through the catching element. The fixing unit is supported by the guide groove after passing through the guide hole, upwardly extended, and joined to the floating member so that the fixing unit positions the floating members to an upper portion of an outer surface of the water collecting case.
