NEGATIVE ELECTRODE AND BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode enhancing charge-discharge efficiency; and to provide a battery using the negative electrode.

SOLUTION: The negative electrode 22 is formed by arranging a negative active material layer 22B on a negative current collector 22A. The negative active material layer 22B contains a negative active material containing at least one of silicon and tin as a constituent element. A film containing an oxide and a halide of at least one selected from the group comprising silicon, germanium, and tin is formed in at least a part on the surface of the negative active material.
