<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a lead storage battery excellent in a bonding property between an electrode plate group ear part and a strap as well as corrosion resistance of the ear part. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the lead storage battery integrally bonding ear parts of the electrode plate group by a cast-on strap method, mechanical polishing and reduction flame irradiation in that order are applied to the electrode plate group ear parts 1a, 2a before bonding, and oxide films of the electrode plate group ear parts 1a, 2a are removed. In integrally bonding the electrode plate group ear parts 1a, 2a by the COS method, lead paste or the oxide films adhered on the electrode plate group ear parts 1a, 2a are removed by applying the mechanical polishing and the reduction flame irradiation in that order, so that a bonding property is excellent between the electrode plate group ear parts 1a, 2a and the straps. Further, since flux is not used in bonding, occurrence of void is prevented, and neither the bonding property between the electrode plate group ear parts and the straps nor corrosion resistance of the ear parts is degraded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
