<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-term preservation method for increasing storage quality of raw sweet potatoes, and preserving for a long term in a storage room while retaining quality. <P>SOLUTION: This long-term preservation method comprises a process (S3) of storing raw sweet potatoes to be a raw material of a liquor distilled from sweet potatoes in a sterilization treatment chamber, keeping a first chamber temperature and a first chamber humidity constant, keeping a chamber carbon dioxide concentration at a constant value or below, and performing short-term sterilization treatment while applying slight breeze of a low speed to the raw sweet potatoes, a process (S4) of letting the raw sweet potatoes release heat in the sterilization treatment chamber, and removing water adhering to the surface of the raw sweet potatoes, and a process (S5) of storing the raw sweet potatoes, keeping a second chamber temperature and a second chamber humidity constant, keeping a chamber carbon dioxide concentration at a constant value or below, and circulating air in the chamber followed by storing the raw sweet potatoes for a long period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
