<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant inclusion preventing mechanism for an undulating gear speed reducer and a steering device with variable gear ratio, which certainly prevents a lubricant having a comparatively high viscosity used in the meshing part of a flexible external gear installed in the undulating gear speed reducer, from being included in a lubricant of a flexible bearing supporting the flexible external gear from inside. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricant inclusion preventing mechanism includes a side plate 37 having an elliptical shape similar to an elliptical rigid cam 35 and to rotate in a single piece with the rigid cam 35, and is configured so that a side seal 70 fixed to the side plate 37 is slidably put in tight attachment to the inside circumferential surface 40A of the outer ring 40 of the flexible bearing 34. In this arrangement, the side seal 70 is free of sliding in the radial direction or making expansion or contraction as in the conventional way, which enhances the sealing performance and the reliability to certainly preclude mixture of the lubricants. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
