<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent visibility of visual information from being degraded by a change of luminance of a background corresponding to a position for presenting the visual information. <P>SOLUTION: A background luminance estimation means 5 estimates luminance of a plurality of points in a front scene of a driver.
