The invention relates to a metal strip having a coating on at least one surface of the strip, the coating comprising a continuous paint base layer with a specular reflection between about 6 and 120 gloss units beneath at least one discontinuous paint layer having a stone-effect pattern, wherein the coating has the appearance of a polished stone surface, and methods for making such metal strip.
