An LCD and a method of fabricating the same are provided to improve the brightness by forming a wire-grid polarizer therein. An AlNd(12) is formed at one side of an upper surface of a glass substrate(10). A first molybdenum(Mo)(14) is formed on an upper surface of the AlNd. A first wire-grid polarizer(16) and a second wire-grid polarizer(18) are formed at other side of the upper surface of the glass substrate so as to be spaced a predetermined interval from each other. An electrode(Cst) is formed between the first and second wire-grid polarizers. An insulating layer(20)(for example, SiNx: a silicon nitride layer) is formed on the AlNd, the first molybdenum, the first and second wire-grid polarizers, and the electrode. A first amorphous silicon(a-Si)(22) is formed at one side of an upper surface of the insulating layer. A second amorphous silicon(24) and a third amorphous silicon(26) are formed on an upper surface of the first amorphous silicon so as to be spaced a predetermined interval from each other. A second molybdenum(28) is formed on upper surfaces of the insulating layer, and the first and second amorphous silicon. An ITO(indium tin oxide)(30) is formed at other side of the upper surface of the insulating layer to be spaced from a predetermined interval from the first amorphous silicon. A third molybdenum(32) is formed on upper surfaces of the insulating layer, the ITO, and the first and third amorphous silicon. A passivation layer(34) is formed on upper surfaces of the first and second amorphous silicon, the second molybdenum, the third amorphous silicon, the third molybdenum, and the ITO. |
