<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optical pickup in which accurate tracking control can be performed by eliminating an influence of reflected side beams by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A laser light emitting point 25 of a laser diode 11 is offset-arranged at one of corners in an outgoing end plane of a laser chip 24, by arranging the arrangement direction of two reflected sub-beams Bs made incident on the laser diode 11 and the thickness direction of the laser chip 24 so as to form a prescribed angle θ, the apparent chip thickness of the laser chip 24 for the arrangement direction of the reflected sub-beam Bs is reduced to smaller than a return interval of the reflected side beam Bs, it is prevented that the reflected side beam Bs is reflected again at an out-going end plane of the laser chip 24 and returned to the optical disk, and it can be prevented surely that the re-reflected reflected side beam Bs interferes with the out-going side beam and the signal quality of a tracking error signal is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
