<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication unit comprising a scanning reception function where desired channels can be combined and scanned freely, according to the situation, since a target bank and other banks have been scanned conventionally in a group order set, on the same conditions so that there is a high possibility of having a signal detection timing of the channel of interest missing, and there are variously different objects to be scanned in accordance with the situation. <P>SOLUTION: By setting a scanning sequence to arrange the identical bank plural number of times within a single scanning period, while sequentially arranging one of the other banks, the target bank is called out more than the other banks.
