A method for evaluating an equiaxed grain ratio of ferritic stainless steel is provided to promptly evaluate the amount of equiaxed grains generated in the center of a casting slab according to the number of nuclei for equiaxed grains generated in the central part of the cooled sample after collecting a sample in a tundish or steelmaking ladle treatment completing process prior to continuous casting and cooling the collected sample. A method for evaluating an equiaxed grain ratio of ferritic stainless steel includes the steps of: collecting molten steel in a tundish or steelmaking ladle treatment completing process; pouring the collected molten steel into a mold and pressurizing the molten steel; rapidly cooling the pressurized molten steel to fabricate a sample; cutting the rapidly cooled sample; etching the cut sample; and evaluating an equiaxed grain ratio of the etched sample to estimate an equiaxed grain ratio of a casting slab, wherein the step of evaluating the equiaxed grain ratio of the sample to estimate the equiaxed grain ratio of the casting slab is performed by the following relational expression of y=ax^b, where y is an estimated equiaxed grain ratio(%) of a casting slab, x is the number of equiaxed grains measured from the sample, and a and b are proportional coefficients with a being 3 to 3.5 and the b being 1 to 1.5.
|
