Dual mode cavity filter (5) installed aboard a satellite, comprising a first waveguide cavity (15), a second waveguide cavity (30), a first coupling waveguide iris (12) having an input slot (10) and followed by the first waveguide cavity (15), a second coupling waveguide iris (28) having a coupling (25) slot, following the first waveguide cavity (15) and followed by the second waveguide cavity (30), and a third coupling waveguide iris (44) having an output slot (42) and following the second waveguide cavity (30). The dual mode cavity filter (5) is associated with a plurality of devices having at least one respective commanded rod having a certain insertion length with respect of the waveguide cavities (15, 30) and of the slots (10, 25, 42). The devices are placed in predetermined positions of the cavities (15, 30) and/or of the irises (12, 28, 44) and are arranged to perform, in use in outer space, a tuning modification and/or a coupling modification of the filter by controlling the insertion length of the rods. |
